Humboldt Honey MPLS

The Story Garden is the homestead location for Humboldt Honey MPLS. We believe community gardens fall in alignment with how bees live, and how they teach us how to live. Together. Caring for the collective hive.

Since we started, we have added two more hives in another community garden, Northend Garden on Penn and Lowry. We sell exclusively local products as we believe the medicinal properties of the honey are best for those who live closest to it.

Community Hives for our Collective Healing

Joanne Goodard and Danielle Tietjen are Humboldt Honey MPLS Beekeepers.

We spend all year taking care of the bees, providing food and water when it is unavailable, and ensuring their hives are free of mites and critters. We harvest once a year in the fall and sell the honey in pints and half pints to neighbors. All proceeds go to support the garden and the business of beekeeping. We are a small women-owned business rooted in community and focused on neighborhood connections. This venture for us is about learning, expanding our knowledge, and sharing that with community.

We are excited to launch our launch our Apprenciship Program and Community Bee Stewardship Program in 2026. To learn more about it, or have a conversation about what it entails, fill out this FORM.

Interested in purchasing some honey? Contact us and we will be happy to give you a tour of the garden and introduce you to the bees with every purchase.
